Multiple opportunities have arisen within the Tameside area, for newly qualified teachers looking to gain invaluable secondary school experience for a full academic year starting September 2023.

Specifically looking a newly qualified teacher who is looking for a role to gain valuable experience in a school within the Tameside area. The required individual will be required to have completed teacher training and competent in delivering lesson with both English literature and language. Alongside a degree within either subject would be desirable. This role will give you experience with delivering high quality lessons and lesson plans. It is therefore essential that the applicant will have a passion for trying to ensure that every child maximises their ability within these subject areas.

Being able to implement their own unique methods gained from the teacher placements as well as applying intervention strategies to students who require extra guidance when required. Knowledge of managing those with SEN is also of importance, alongside being able to effectively differentiate learning processes to cater the needs of those specific individuals. Prior experience will be desirable but not essential.

Understanding of the complexities often faced by students whose primary language may not be English is of paramount importance. Again, being able to meet the needs of these students is imperative.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Effective delivery of school curriculum for both English language and literature, preparing students for assessments/examinations.
  • Preparation and ability to create educational material for both in class tasks as well as for homework.
  • Working in line with recommendations made from Ofsted, to ensure that improvement is made internally.
  • Working alongside teaching assistants/learning support assistants, utilising these roles to fully ensure that students are on task throughout lessons.
  • Great ability to kick start your career and develop everlasting teaching experience.
  • Enforcing school policy, managing to behavioural expectations as well as the opportunity to develop positive working relationships with both students and members of staff.
  • Rate of pay £28,000 - £31,750

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
