A school in Stockport is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join the support staff on a temporary basis. The role will involve ensuring that student’s are completing pre-set tasks efficiently. This support role is open for applications from the following:

  • Sports Coaches – those who have worked within this capacity, and are competent in the management of behaviour in line with school policy.
  • Youth/Community Workers – applications are welcomed from those who worked within a youth/community setting, and are capable in ensuring that children are keeping to task.
  • Tutors/Mentors – applications are also welcomed from those who work within this capacity, owing to the transferrable skills that are required in order to become a successful cover supervisor.

Applications are also welcomed to those who have prior school experience, and are wanting to gain further invaluable experience. As a cover supervisor, key aspects of this role include:

  • Ensuring that the classroom environment is suitable for effective learning take place.
  • Monitoring behaviour expectations in line with school policy, and feeding back to senior leadership as required.
  • Supporting students, offering support and guidance when needed relating to the work set.
  • Essential that the required applicant is able display a confident demeanour within the classroom.
  • Also of high importance, that the given individual is able to be versatile with regards to the subjects that they are covering.
  • Being able to effectively engage students, as well as work as part of a team.

Whilst there is no planning or marking involved with this role, it is expected that the required candidate will be able to display the necessary skills to carry out the role efficiently.

Pay - GBP275-350 per week.

Typical school day: 8:30-3:30pm
