Job description

Cover Supervisor – Wigan Schools

We are recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Wigan, offering both flexible and full-time opportunities.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff looking for varied work within education. Full training is provided, so prior classroom experience is not essential.

The Role:

  • Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher

  • Delivering pre-set lesson plans and ensuring students stay on task

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and engagement

  • Reporting back to teaching staff at the end of the day

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Confident and professional in a classroom environment

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Reliable, adaptable, and organised

  • Experience working with young people is desirable but not essential

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
