Pay: £90 – £105 per day


About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our agency and support a range of secondary schools across Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in maintaining high standards of learning and behaviour.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and on task. You will deliver pre-prepared work, follow school guidelines, and help maintain a positive classroom environment. No lesson planning is required, making this the perfect stepping stone into a career in education.

You do not need to be a qualified teacher – this Cover Supervisor role is ideal for graduates, teaching assistants, mentors, coaches, or anyone with relevant experience supporting young people.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise lessons across a wide range of subjects in secondary schools.
  • Ensure students complete the work set and maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Provide feedback to teachers regarding student progress or behaviour.
  • Support the wider school community when needed.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of students and maintain discipline.
  • A flexible, proactive, and reliable approach to work.
  • Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience is desirable).
  • A degree or relevant qualification is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
