Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
Milton Keynes (All MK Postcodes)
Full-Time & Flexible Opportunities Available

We are seeking reliable, confident, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools throughout the Milton Keynes area (MK1–MK17).

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced Cover Supervisors, or overseas-trained educators looking to gain UK school experience. Whether you are seeking full-time work or flexible placements, we have opportunities to suit you.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Provide a positive and productive learning environment

  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

This role does not require planning or marking but does require confidence, presence, and strong communication skills.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from:

  • Graduates (particularly those considering teacher training)

  • Overseas or British Cover Supervisors with previous experience

  • Individuals with experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, youth work, coaching, mentoring, etc.)

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience working with young people (formal or informal settings)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good behaviour management and organisational skills

  • Confidence leading a classroom of secondary-aged students

  • A flexible and proactive approach

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Degree-level qualification

  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant

  • Overseas teaching experience

  • A UK-recognised qualification or relevant training
