Cover Supervisor

Location: Buxton
Pay: £450 – £525 per week (depending on experience)


About the Role

Teaching Personnel are looking for a confident, proactive, and reliable cover supervisor to support secondary schools across the Buxton area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable school-based experience, whether you are considering a future in teaching or enjoy working with young people in a classroom setting.

As a cover supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with pre-prepared work and maintaining a positive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set lesson plans and supervise students across various subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students with their learning and engagement.
• Maintain a calm, organised classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with staff and students.


Requirements

• Experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Confidence in leading a class and promoting positive behaviour.
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people as a cover supervisor.
• GCSE-level standard education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
