This is an ideal opportunity for aspiring teachers ready to take their first steps into education, gain paid classroom experience, and progress into a fully qualified teacher training route within a supportive and nurturing school environment.

About the Future Teachers Programme (SCITT Pathway)

Our Future Teachers Programme is designed to support graduates who aspire to become teachers but wish to gain hands-on experience before committing to Initial Teacher Training. Over the course of the academic year, you will work in a structured, developmental role within the school before progressing onto the School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme on-site.

This provides a seamless transition from support role → trainee teacher → qualified teacher (QTS).

✅ A genuine interest in teaching young people
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Resilience, patience, and a positive mindset
✅ A willingness to learn, reflect, and grow professionally
✅ Previous experience working with young people (desirable, not essential)

Role Responsibilities

As a Future Teacher, you will take on a diverse range of duties, gradually building your confidence and teaching skills over time. Your role may include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering high-quality lessons
  • Leading small-group interventions in your subject area
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support
  • Covering lessons under supervision when required
  • Working 1:1 with pupils who require additional guidance
  • Participating in CPD sessions and school training
  • Observing experienced teachers across departments
  • Preparing resources, assessments, and learning materials
  • Taking part in extracurricular clubs, events, or mentoring programmes

This structured experience ensures you are well-prepared to begin your SCITT teacher training with confidence.

Why Choose This Programme?

✅ Paid experience in a reputable North Liverpool secondary school
✅ Clear progression route into a SCITT teacher training programme
✅ Ongoing support from Teaching Personnel and school mentors
✅ A development plan tailored to your future career
✅ Opportunities to experience all aspects of school life
✅ A seamless transition into a full teaching qualification

This school has a long history of nurturing trainee teachers, providing excellent mentorship, and retaining staff long-term—making it an ideal environment to begin your teaching journey.
