About the Role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barking is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join their team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering high‑quality teaching, fostering positive learning environments, and supporting children to reach their full potential. ECTs are strongly encouraged to apply, and full induction support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
As a Class Teacher, you will:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Use effective differentiation strategies to support pupils of varying abilities.
- Set clear learning objectives and track pupil progress using formative and summative assessment.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, following the school’s behaviour policy.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to year‑group and whole‑school planning.
- Use ICT effectively to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Support the wider life of the school, demonstrating professionalism and commitment to school values.
Experience, Skills & Qualities
We are looking for a teacher who has:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or is working towards it (ECTs welcome).
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- The ability to plan creative and challenging lessons.
- Good classroom management skills and a nurturing approach.
- Strong communication skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- A reflective, proactive, and solution‑focused mindset.
- A commitment to raising pupil attainment and well‑being.
ECTs will receive:
- A supportive mentor

- Structured induction programme
- Opportunities for ongoing CPD
Location
This role is based in Barking, offering excellent transport links and a supportive, community‑focused environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
