Salary: Grade 7, SCP 18–23 (£26,761–£29,220)
We are recruiting on behalf of a successful and forward-thinking secondary school for an experienced and motivated Catering Manager to lead its busy catering operation.

The Role
As Catering Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school's catering service, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service are maintained at all times.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the daily operation of the kitchen and dining service.
- Planning and delivering nutritious, balanced menus.
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of catering staff.
- Managing budgets, stock control and reducing food waste.
- Ensuring compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and allergen management, including Natasha's Law.
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting quality assurance processes.
- Creating a welcoming dining experience for pupils, staff and visitors.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience managing a busy catering operation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience working within budgets and controlling stock effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, allergen legislation and health & safety requirements.
- Experience planning healthy, appealing menus.
- Outstanding organisational, communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive approach with high standards and excellent attention to detail.
Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Catering (or equivalent).
- Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent).
- A sound understanding of current food safety legislation.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
