Behaviour Support Assistant

Job description

1:1 TA required supporting a Pupil in year 2 with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, within a central Salford Primary School (M3).

Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit an experienced specialist support assistant, to provide 1:1 support for a year 1 pupil with SEMH. The role is to start ASAP or after October half term and continue through until July 2021, with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate. The school SENCO is looking for a TA with experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and working within EYFS/KS1 setting. A nurturing but firm approach will be needed in this role.

You will spend time supporting the pupil in class but will also have to spend time in a nurture room on a 1:1 basis. The school has been graded ‘Good’ by OFSTED but does have a large variety of pupils with complex and additional needs including Looked After Children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. Team Teach qualification is highly sought after but not essential as Teaching Personnel can offer this training.
