Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary School – Tameside (September Start)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a large, inclusive secondary school in Tameside to recruit a full-time Behaviour Support Assistant for a September 2025 start. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting students who face social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
Role Summary:
-
Supporting students with SEMH needs in and out of lessons
-
Providing behaviour intervention in the classroom, around school, and in inclusion units
-
Delivering 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions
-
Working alongside pastoral staff, SENCOs, and external agencies
-
Encouraging positive attitudes, routines, and engagement with education
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Has experience working with young people with challenging behaviour (school, youth work, residential care, etc.)

Is calm under pressure, emotionally resilient, and non-judgemental
-
Can build rapport quickly and work as part of a supportive team
-
Understands safeguarding procedures and the importance of consistency
-
Holds an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or is willing to apply

Full-time role (Mon–Fri), 8:30am–3:30pm, term-time only

Start Date: September 2025

Paid via Teaching Personnel: daily rate from £89 to £95+ (PAYE, no umbrella fees)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
