Behaviour Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants, and we’re searching for compassionate, resilient and motivated individuals who want to help young people re-engage, rebuild and thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs across East Manchester:

  • Providing 1:1 and in‑class support as an SEMH TA / LSA
  • Helping pupils manage behaviour, emotions and everyday challenges
  • Working in a range of settings - SEMH schools, APs and specialist provisions
  • Building confidence, communication and learning readiness
  • Developing your skills through diverse, flexible placements

Who Thrives in This Role?

You’ll be a great fit if you bring:

  • Experience supporting young people in schools, care, youth work or similar
  • Availability Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:30
  • Confidence (or willingness) to work with behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for social, emotional and academic development
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
