Behaviour Support Assistant

We’re currently recruiting for Behaviour Support Assistants to work across secondary schools in Rochdale, starting September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in education, youth work, or behaviour management.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

• Work closely with teaching staff to support students who display challenging behaviour.

• Build positive relationships to help students engage more effectively with learning.

• Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a calm and focused environment.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support inside and outside of the classroom.

• Help to monitor and record student progress and contribute to support plans.

We're looking for:

• Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or youth work setting.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Patience, empathy, and a calm, confident approach.

• A genuine commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning.

• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential – training and support will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
