Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Manchester
Pay: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are looking for a resilient and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in secondary schools across the Manchester area. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role, perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to overcome behavioural barriers and succeed in education.
You will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide targeted support for students who display challenging behaviour, helping them engage positively with learning and develop essential social and emotional skills. This position offers flexibility with full-time or part-time opportunities, and for the right candidate, there is the possibility of a permanent role within the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural needs.
- Assist with classroom engagement and promote positive behaviour strategies.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges (school-based experience preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
- GCSE-level standard education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
