Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking Behaviour Mentors to work in a "Good" rated alternative provision based in the Derby area with children aged 13-16 who present with challenging behaviour. 

The provision deals with children who may be involved with crime as well as children in care and their aim is to support these young people to progress to either re-integration back into mainstream schools or post 16 Education, Employment, Apprenticeships or Training through personalised education plans.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:-

  • Experience with children who present with challenging behaviour in a care setting or school
  • Previous dealings with children who present with SEN
  • Previous experience with children teaching on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • A kind and personable personality to re-engage students who are disengaged with their education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
