Job description

  • Are you looking for a rewarding new job?
  • Are you passionate about working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)?
  • Excellent rates of pay from £89.38 per day

We may have the job for you!

Teaching Personnel have a high demand for teaching assistants in the Fairwater area in Cardiff who have experience supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The position will be highly challenging, but you will experience immense satisfaction and a sense of achievement as a result. You will be working on a one-to-one basis or in small groups with pupils, so the ability to build a rapport with pupils is essential. The right applicant will be required to be flexible and adaptable in their approach as each child is dealt with on an individual basis.

You will be assisting and motivating pupils who may display challenging behaviours, and so you must be capable and confident in dealing with these behaviours and ideally have teaching and behaviour strategies to help overcome this. A Team Teach or de-escalation qualification is highly desirable for this role, but not essential.

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, enthusiastic with a “can-do” attitude and be willing to get stuck in with extra-curricular activities at the school. You will be proactive, creative, and engaging with the willingness to motivate pupils. Professional or personal experience working with children with SEMH is highly desired, as you will understand the complexities relevant to these behaviours, but it is not essential to the role.

Due to the nature of the role, an enhanced DBS on the update system and a registration with the EWC is essential and both must be completed prior to employment. Applications for both the DBS and EWC can be completed through Teaching personnel.

If this role sounds like you, please upload your CV below.

We look forward to hearing from you!
