Autism Support Assistants (ASD Unit)
Location: Llandeilo
Hours: 8:50am – 3:30pm, Term Time Only
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Start Date: September 2026

We are recruiting Autism Support Assistants to join a specialist Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) provision based within a welcoming secondary school in Llandeilo. The unit provides a structured, supportive and nurturing environment for pupils with autism who benefit from additional support to access education and develop socially and emotionally.

The provision offers smaller class sizes, specialist learning spaces, sensory-friendly areas and tailored support programmes designed to meet individual needs. Pupils may experience challenges with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, anxiety, sensory processing and transitions throughout the school day. The dedicated team works closely with families and professionals to ensure every pupil feels safe, understood and empowered to reach their full potential.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people in building confidence, independence and essential life skills while helping them achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

The Role
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will:

✅ Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis throughout the school day

✅ Help pupils access learning through structured and individualised support

✅ Encourage social interaction, communication and emotional regulation

✅ Support pupils with transitions, routines and organisation

✅ Assist with implementing behaviour support strategies and individual plans

✅ Work closely with teachers, ALN staff, parents and external professionals

✅ Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one)
