Autism Learning Support Assistant

Some children communicate without words. Some thrive on routine. Others simply need someone who understands that progress doesn't always happen in big steps.

Teaching Personnel is working with a number of specialist schools across Horsham and Crawley that support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We're looking for patient, empathetic and reliable Learning Support Assistants who want to play a meaningful role in helping young people succeed.

No two days are ever the same. You could be supporting communication through visual aids, helping a pupil regulate during moments of anxiety, encouraging independence, or celebrating milestones that might seem small to others—but mean everything to the child.

We're looking for people who are:

• Calm, patient and understanding
• Passionate about supporting young people
• Confident building positive relationships
• Happy working as part of a close-knit team
• Experienced in education, care, youth work or support roles (desirable but not essential)

The role may include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Encouraging communication and social development
• Assisting with sensory activities and structured learning
• Promoting confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Working closely with teachers and therapists

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
