Salary: £15,950 - £20,572 per annum (Actual) – £26,825 - £34,600 FTE
Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)

Are you a skilled tradesperson with a background in property maintenance and carpentry, looking to share your knowledge with the next generation? Our client, a leading further education college based in Cambridge, is seeking a part-time Assessor/Trainer to support the delivery of qualifications in Property Maintenance and Carpentry. This is a rewarding opportunity to help learners develop practical skills and prepare for successful careers in the construction and maintenance sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and practical training sessions in Property Maintenance and Carpentry

  • Assess learners in college and in the workplace to ensure they meet qualification standards

  • Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records

  • Support learners in achieving their full potential through personalised guidance

  • Work closely with employers to coordinate workplace assessments and ensure relevant experience

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Industry experience in property maintenance, carpentry, or a related trade

  • An Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1) or willingness to work towards one

  • A teaching/training qualification or the desire to gain one

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • A commitment to high-quality teaching, learning, and learner success
