Teacher of Art & Design
Full Time | Start Date: September 2026 | MK6

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Art & Design to join our thriving 11–19 mixed comprehensive school in MK6.

We are a successful Catholic school with specialist training status and an excellent reputation within the local community. Our school is built on strong values, high expectations, and a commitment to nurturing the gifts and talents of every young person.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and innovative teacher who:

  • Delivers engaging and inspiring Art & Design lessons across Key Stages 3–5

  • Encourages creativity, experimentation, and technical skill development

  • Contributes to a broad and ambitious curriculum that promotes artistic excellence

  • Supports high levels of achievement and progress for all students

  • Is keen to contribute to extracurricular opportunities such as exhibitions, competitions, clubs, and community arts projects

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting creativity and self-expression while upholding the school’s ethos and high standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a closely related subject

  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic disciplines and media

  • Ability to teach Art & Design at GCSE level (A Level desirable)

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • A willingness to support and uphold the Catholic ethos of the school

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching A Level Art & Design

  • Experience in specialist areas such as photography, textiles, 3D design, or digital art

  • Involvement in enrichment activities or whole-school creative initiatives
