ALN Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor Opportunities

Locations: Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil & Caerphilly
Contract: Full-time, Part-time and flexible opportunities available until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: £93 per day as a Teaching Assistant / £120 per day as a Cover Supervisor
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are currently recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, and Caerphilly. These roles offer the opportunity to support pupils of different ages and abilities in a range of school settings, helping them achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role

You will work in a range of welcoming and supportive schools, providing valuable classroom support for pupils with additional learning needs. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support across primary and secondary age groups
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping create an inclusive learning environment
• Working collaboratively with teachers, ALNCOs/SENCOs, and support staff to meet individual pupil needs
• Adapting confidently to different school environments and classroom settings

Free Cover Supervisor Training Opportunity

For candidates looking to develop their school-based experience further, we also offer a free 2-hour Cover Supervisor training course.

Once completed, you will be able to work as a Cover Supervisor, delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher across primary and secondary schools. This is a great opportunity to increase your earning potential and broaden your classroom experience.

Cover Supervisor pay: £120 per day

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Patient, caring, and understanding of individual learning needs
• Passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning
• Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different schools
• Able to manage classroom behaviour effectively
• Experienced working with children or young people in an educational or support setting

Requirements

Teaching Personnel provides guidance and support for obtaining the following:

• Education Workforce Council (EWC) Registration
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• References covering two years of employment
