Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and nurturing SEN Primary School in Oldham that is looking to appoint a dedicated Additional Needs Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build a rewarding career in education and support children who require additional help to reach their full potential.
The Role
As an Additional Needs Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech and Language Needs
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Learning difficulties and developmental delays
- Sensory and communication needs
No two days are the same. You'll play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom
- Using creative and engaging strategies to encourage learning and development
- Assisting with emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviours
- Supporting communication and social interaction skills
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure every child receives the support they need
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

- Has experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, either in schools or transferable settings

- Can adapt their approach to meet individual needs
Transferable Experience We Welcome:
- Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience
- Care work or support worker backgrounds
- Youth work or mentoring experience
- Nursery or childcare experience
- Residential care experience
- Sports coaching
- Psychology graduates
- Volunteering with children or vulnerable individuals
- Personal experience supporting family members with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
