Academic Mentor / Intervention Specialist (Maths, English, Science)

Location: Tameside
Salary: £89 - £110 per day (depending on experience and subject area)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time or part-time (flexible depending on subject and availability)

Do you have a strong academic background in Maths, English, or Science and want to make a difference to student outcomes? A high-performing school in Tameside is seeking an Academic Mentor to deliver structured, high-impact intervention sessions to small groups of KS3 and KS4 pupils.

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and focused catch-up sessions for students identified as below target.

• Work closely with Heads of Department to align intervention content with the curriculum.

• Address gaps in knowledge and provide exam revision support where required.

• Track pupil progress and adjust intervention strategies to ensure measurable impact.

• Offer pastoral encouragement and help build resilience in students facing barriers to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
