Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Full-Time | £100 per day | Start Date: September 2026
Location: Salisbury City Centre
A welcoming and vibrant 3-form entry primary school in the heart of Salisbury is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team on a full-time basis from September 2026.

The Role
As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. This is a varied and rewarding position, ideal for someone confident in leading whole-class teaching as well as supporting pupils in smaller groups.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting pupils’ learning across a range of subjects and year groups
- Leading small group interventions to support progress and attainment
- Working collaboratively with teachers to plan and adapt learning activities
- Providing feedback on pupil progress and contributing to assessment
- Supporting the overall ethos and behaviour expectations of the school

- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working within a primary school setting
- Confidence in leading whole-class teaching
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and proactive approach
- A commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
