Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Full-Time | £100 per day | Start Date: September 2026
Location: Salisbury City Centre

A welcoming and vibrant 3-form entry primary school in the heart of Salisbury is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team on a full-time basis from September 2026.

Our school is a thriving, inclusive community located in the centre of Salisbury, with a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. With three classes per year group, we benefit from a collaborative staff team, excellent facilities, and enthusiastic pupils who are eager to learn.

The Role

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. This is a varied and rewarding position, ideal for someone confident in leading whole-class teaching as well as supporting pupils in smaller groups.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils’ learning across a range of subjects and year groups
  • Leading small group interventions to support progress and attainment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to plan and adapt learning activities
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress and contributing to assessment
  • Supporting the overall ethos and behaviour expectations of the school

What We Are Looking For

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience working within a primary school setting
  • Confidence in leading whole-class teaching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach
  • A commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
