Job description

Tutor – Mossley (OL5)

We are looking for tutors in Mossley (OL5) to support pupils through personalised 1:1 tuition. Many of these learners may be out of school due to SEND, SEMH, medical needs, or anxiety, and tuition plays a vital role in helping them catch up, build confidence, and reintegrate back into education.

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering tailored 1:1 tuition in core subjects (Maths and English)

  • Planning engaging lessons to match each learner’s needs and abilities

  • Supporting pupils with barriers to education, including confidence and behaviour challenges

  • Keeping brief records of progress and outcomes

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring children or young people

  • Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths

  • A flexible, patient and supportive approach to learning

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

What we offer:

  • £25–£30 per hour, depending on experience

  • Flexible weekday hours during the school day

  • Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella deductions)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
