Teaching Assistant – Full Time, Temporary
York
£90–£110 per day (depending on experience)
Full-time, term-time only | Temporary position
✨ We’re seeking a motivated and caring Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in York. This is a full-time, term-time only role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils and helping them reach their full potential. The position is available for an immediate start and offers a chance to make a real difference in the classroom every day.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You’ll:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils across a range of subjects
Assist teachers in preparing resources and adapting lessons to meet pupils’ needs
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and confidence in learning
Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure every child is supported
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
✅ Experienced in working with children (school or youth work experience preferred)
Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about education
️ A strong communicator and team player
Qualified to at least Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) — desirable, not essential
Eager to learn, take initiative, and grow within a supportive school environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
