Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Location: Yeovil Area
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £90 – £94 per day

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in EYFS at a welcoming school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs within an EYFS classroom
  • Help the pupil access lessons and classroom activities
  • Support the development of social, emotional, and communication skills
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Adapt approaches throughout the day to meet the pupil’s changing needs
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ideally has previous SEN experience or a strong understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Demonstrates patience, dedication, and empathy
  • Provides consistency and reassurance to support the pupil’s learning and wellbeing
  • Is able to think on their feet and adapt to different classroom situations
  • Has a calm, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff

Recruitment Process

A trusted consultant will arrange an interview to:

  • Discuss your previous experience
  • Explore classroom and safeguarding scenarios
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed, including:
    • Right to Work
    • References
    • Enhanced DBS application

Successful candidates will also complete Safeguarding and Thrive training prior to starting the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
