A secondary pupil referral unit in Manchester is looking for a 1:1 support assistant for an immediate start. The school works with KS4 students to provide individualised support for students that have social, emotional and mental health needs. As a support assistant, you will play a crucial role in the progression of the child that you are working with.

Responsibilities:

-          Work closely with an individual that requires additional support within their learning

-          Develop a strong rapport and understand the individual’s unique challenges, strengths and goals

-          Help to adapt teaching and communication methods to suit the individual’s learning needs

-          Monitor progress and communicate this regularly with other staff

-          Maintain a high level of safeguarding

Requirements:

-          Be available full-time

-          Proven experience in supporting individuals with challenging behaviour or additional needs

-          Excellent communication skills

-          Ability to track progress and maintain records

-          Excellent safeguarding knowledge

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
