1:1 Specialist Teaching Assistant
Job description
Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Warrington (WA3)
Contract: Temporary, Full-Time & Part-Time Options (With the opportunity to transition into a permanent role)
Start Date: September 2025
A welcoming Church of England primary school in Warrington is looking to appoint a caring and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This rewarding role is perfect for someone who is passionate about providing personalised support and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning within a nurturing, values-led environment.
The school prides itself on it’s inclusive ethos, strong community ties, and dedication to the holistic development of every child. You will play a key role in enabling the pupil to engage fully with the curriculum and school life, working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external specialists.
The school is conveniently situated near the M62 and M6, with excellent transport links and free on-site parking.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
- Enhanced child DBS on the Update Service (Or willingness to obtain one).
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working 1:1.
- Strong understanding of a range of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.
- Ability to implement and adapt strategies to meet the child’s specific needs and learning goals.
- Confidence in using behaviour support strategies where required.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, parents, and professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
