1:1 SEND & Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant

Full Time / Part Time
8:30am – 3:30pm
£13.68 – £15 per hour (experience dependent)
Immediate Start

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a caring and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and behavioural challenges. This role is based within a welcoming Primary School and involves working in a KS1 setting to help a child access learning and develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEND & Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide personalised support to a pupil with additional needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering an inclusive and engaging learning environment
  • Support the child’s emotional regulation, social development, and daily routines
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions
  • Build trusting relationships to help the pupil feel safe, supported, and motivated

The school is a nurturing two-form-entry setting with a strong community ethos. They are seeking a committed individual to join their team on a temporary basis, with the possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience or qualifications linked to SEND support
  • A patient, adaptable, and positive approach
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and communication skills
  • A commitment to supporting the school’s values and safeguarding standards
