Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by providing tailored support and helping them thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Job Title: SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Burnley
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning plans.
  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Assist with social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with SEN (particularly in a primary setting) is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
