Primary School Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEN Support)
Location: NP7
Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time / Flexible
Pay: Weekly pay
Teaching Personnel are working with schools in the NP7 area seeking hardworking, adaptable, and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs including Pica.
This is a rewarding role for individuals who are patient, resilient, and committed to supporting children with additional needs.
About the Role
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and complex needs
- Support sensory, communication, and behavioural development
- Follow individual learning and behaviour plans
- Promote safe behaviours and supervise pupils closely where required
- Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Assist with routines, transitions, and structured activities
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive environment
Skills & Experience
- Experience with SEN/ALN, particularly ASD
- Understanding of Pica (or willingness to learn)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour support
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and proactive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
