1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Surrey - Camberley, Guildford, Woking, Godalming
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Fixed Term / Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and proactive 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community. This rewarding role involves working closely with an individual pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide individualised support to a pupil with identified SEN needs

  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the child’s specific learning style

  • Support emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals

  • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs or support plans

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or other additional needs)

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) – desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
