Your NQT Career

Each year Teaching Personnel helps thousands of teachers and support workers take the next step on their career journey. For most NQTs, this will mean finding a suitable permanent placement and starting their NQT year. However, that might not be right for you. If you decide to take a different way, we can support you on your chosen path.

Temporary and supply work Temporary and Supply Work

With courses disrupted by the pandemic, you might not feel ready to start your NQT year in September. If not, we can still help you gain valuable experience in schools.

Why choose supply work?

1. Build experience.

Supply work is an excellent way to build up experience quickly. Get an inside look at how schools you might like to work in permanently really run.

2. Skills and confidence.

Supply is a great way to build up confidence and practical skills in the classroom. Don't worry about the added responsibilities of a permanent or longer-term role.

3. Get used to the requirements.

Long-term placements allow you to get a fuller feel for permanent role requirements. Schools use long-term placements to audition teachers for permanent positions.

Special Needs Education

Other work opportunities Work Outside the Mainstream

Teaching Personnel can help you build experience in other areas too.  Working in a special school or Alternative Provision is not something every NQT gets to do. We can help you gain experience working with special needs.

Demand for tutors is growing. As an NTP Tuition Partner and one of the leading providers of catch-up tuition in the country, we can offer you roles working with small groups or individuals to overcome learning loss and further enhance your career opportunities.
