Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join the school from after February half‑term until the end of the academic year. This is a full-time teaching role within a supportive Key Stage 1 team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Year 2 / KS1 curriculum
  • Support pupils’ progress and preparation for KS1 assessments/SATs
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment
  • Differentiate activities to meet varied learning needs
  • Track pupil progress and keep accurate assessment records
  • Work collaboratively with the KS1 team and wider staff
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding commitment and values

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong experience in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
  • Solid understanding of KS1 curriculum, phonics, and assessment frameworks
  • Ability to build a positive, inclusive classroom culture
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to raising standards and pupil achievement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
