Year 1 Teacher – Hindley (WN2)

Start Date: After October half-term
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: Pay to Scale, dependent on experience and qualifications

A welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Hindley (WN2) is looking to appoint a caring, dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their KS1 team after October half-term. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about early learning and enjoys helping children build strong foundations in reading, writing, and numeracy skills.

What the School Is Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with a genuine enthusiasm for Key Stage 1.
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or readiness to apply).
  • Experience supporting young learners through the transition from EYFS to KS1.
  • A calm, nurturing teaching style and ability to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Someone who brings creativity, flexibility, and a child-centred approach to their teaching.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Provide structured, engaging lessons that support early literacy and numeracy development.
  • Use a range of assessment methods to understand individual needs and guide progress.
  • Encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence in every pupil.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to deliver a consistent KS1 curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, ensuring strong home–school partnerships.
