We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Christchurch area from April 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils through the important upper Key Stage 2 stage of their education.

The Role

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will create engaging and inspiring lessons that support pupils’ academic progress while encouraging confidence, independence, and a love for learning.

You will work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure every child is supported to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 curriculum

  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress to ensure positive outcomes

  • Differentiate learning to support a range of abilities and learning needs

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and the wider school community

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable but not essential)

  • A strong understanding of the UK primary curriculum

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • A passionate and engaging teaching style

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • A commitment to supporting pupils’ academic and personal development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
