Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a Plymouth based SEN school and are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a primary aged pupil. The role is to start from September 2020 and will be long term until December 2020. It is to work 1:1 with a child with SEN and in particular, behavioural difficulties.

The role is full time, Monday to Friday term time only.

Our school caters for primary and secondary aged pupils with behavioural and learning difficulties and who are not in mainstream education.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience of working with pupils with SEBD, PMLD, ASC or other SEND experience.
  • Level 2 minimum in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Have a full driving licence with access to a car.
  • Has supported or written IEPs or other support plans.
  • Will be able to communicate effectively with parents, carers and other multi-agency partners.
  • Will have experience working with pupils in KS1 or KS2.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of GBP40, plus an annual subscription fee of GBP13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
