Teaching Assistant

Are you an SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with Social, emotional, and mental health needs?
Do you have experience working with children with challenging behaviour in a school or Youth Work setting?
One of our partnership SEMH schools in South Manchester are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a difference to the young people they support.
In this role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons and activities within the classroom.
- Act as a role model for students and reinforce expectations.
- Support children’s learning to help them to reach their full potential.
- And much more!
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviour in a school or youth work setting
- Highly organised and flexible.
- Enthusiastic and keen to work with young people.
- A good communicator and able to build good relationships with young people.

As part of safer recruitment guidelines all applicants would be subject to standard vetting checks including the obtainment of:
- two previous employment references
- An enhanced DBS on the update service- this can be applied for through Teaching Personnel
- Applicants who have lived outside of the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years will be required to present an overseas criminal check (Police check)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
