Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: St Albans
Pay Rate: £90 – £100 per day
Job Type: Full-time / Term-time only
About the Role
One of our partner schools l is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs. This role involves working closely with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) including a range of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties).
You will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, develop confidence, and reach their full potential within a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.

Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.

Support pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and MLD needs in both academic and social development.

Help manage behaviour positively and encourage engagement in lessons.

Adapt resources and learning approaches to meet individual student needs.

Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements

Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or MLD, is highly desirable (NOT ESSENTIAL)

A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Relevant qualifications or previous experience in education, care, or support work are advantageous.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Only), or willingness to apply.
