Experienced Teaching Assistant – SEMH School (Full Time, January Start)
Location: Bournemouth

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference every single day? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated, supportive SEMH school in Bournemouth, working with secondary-aged pupils with autism who each have an EHCP.

We’re looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is ready to step into a full-time role from January. If you thrive in a nurturing, purposeful environment and love helping young people grow in confidence, independence, and emotional resilience, this could be the perfect fit!

✨ The Role:

  • Supporting secondary-aged pupils with autism in a specialist SEMH setting

  • Providing tailored, consistent support in line with individual EHCPs

  • Creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment

  • Collaborating closely with teaching staff, therapists, and wider support teams

  • Encouraging pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

✨ Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working in SEN/SEMH settings

  • Confident supporting young people with autism

  • Calm, patient, adaptable, and empathetic

  • Able to build strong, positive relationships

  • Committed to helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve their best

  • Available full time from January

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
