Teacher of PE – Full Time – Andover

Start After Easter 2026 | Experienced PE Teacher or Instructor | Excellent Behaviour Management | Secondary School

Teaching Personnel are seeking an energetic and motivated Teacher of PE (qualified OR unqualified but experienced) to join a thriving secondary school in Andover from after Easter 2026. This full‑time role is ideal for an experienced PE practitioner, sports coach or unqualified teacher with strong behaviour management and a passion for inspiring young people to lead active, healthy lives.

If you have solid experience delivering PE, sports coaching or leading physical activity sessions in schools — even without QTS — this role offers an excellent opportunity to progress your career in education.

About the School

This is a well‑established secondary school with a strong reputation in Andover. Known for its positive culture, high expectations and supportive staff team, the school provides a respectful and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to thrive academically and physically.

Students demonstrate excellent attitudes to learning, respond well to structure and enjoy a wide range of sports and extracurricular activities. The school values teamwork, resilience and ambition — all qualities central to success in PE.

The PE Department

The PE team is professional, friendly and passionate about developing pupils’ confidence, fitness and skills. The department benefits from:

  • Strong uptake in extracurricular sports
  • Indoor and outdoor PE facilities for a wide range of sports
  • A collaborative teaching team with shared planning
  • A commitment to wellbeing and high participation rates

Students enjoy a varied curriculum including team games, athletics, fitness, netball, football, basketball and health‑related exercise.

The Role – Teacher of PE (Qualified or Experienced Unqualified)

The school is seeking an experienced and confident practitioner who can deliver high‑quality practical sessions and contribute positively to the wider PE curriculum.

You will:

  • Teach PE across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver fun, engaging and structured PE lessons
  • Use strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm environment
  • Promote teamwork, resilience and physical wellbeing
  • Support extracurricular clubs, fixtures and school sports events
  • Work collaboratively with the PE team on planning and assessment
  • Bring enthusiasm, professionalism and a passion for student development

You do not need to be a qualified teacher (QTS) — but you must have experience delivering PE or sports coaching in a school or youth‑sports environment.

This role is perfect for a sports coach, PE cover supervisor, PE instructor or an unqualified teacher with strong classroom or coaching experience.

What the School Offers

  • Excellent behaviour and a positive learning environment
  • Supportive colleagues and a collaborative PE department
  • CPD opportunities through Teaching Personnel
  • Clear routines that support teacher wellbeing
  • Opportunities for future progression and leadership
  • A friendly and welcoming school culture
