Pay Rate: £172.98 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full academic year

We’re delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join one of our well-established and high-performing secondary schools in the Newport area.

As an English Teacher, you’ll play a vital part in shaping the learning journey of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5. You will deliver engaging lessons that spark curiosity, develop critical thinking, and build confidence in communication and writing.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll have opportunities to enrich school life by contributing to extracurricular activities such as school productions, creative writing clubs, literacy interventions, and educational trips. You’ll also work closely with colleagues to design dynamic schemes of work and high-quality teaching resources.

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is highly desirable but not essential)
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Can plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
  • Can assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive and purposeful feedback
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be in the process of completing their induction

Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Level 2 Safeguarding Training
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Minimum of two professional references covering the last 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
