Teacher of English – Basingstoke – January 2026 Start

Full-Time | Secondary | English Specialist Role

Are you a passionate English specialist looking for a rewarding teaching role starting January 2026? Teaching Personnel are working with a supportive secondary school in Basingstoke seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join their English department on a full-time, long-term basis.

This role is ideal for a confident English teacher with strong subject knowledge, capable of delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The school values high-quality teaching and learning and is looking for a specialist who can inspire students and help them reach their full potential in English.


Role Overview

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum expectations

  • Support students of all abilities to develop their literacy, comprehension, and writing skills

  • Contribute to departmental planning and resource development

  • Maintain excellent behaviour management and classroom standards

  • A specialist in English with strong subject knowledge

  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (experienced teachers and ECTs welcome)

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Passion for student progress and engagement
