Job description

Are you a passionate teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? A highly supportive specialist secondary provision in the Frome area is seeking a committed Teacher to join their dedicated team working with students aged 11–18.

This setting is known for its inclusive ethos, strong staff collaboration and focus on student wellbeing, providing a nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to grow academically, socially and emotionally. This specialist provision supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including: ASC, SEMH, MLD and Communication and interaction challenges Students benefit from small class sizes, personalised learning plans and practical learning opportunities, helping them develop confidence, independence and key life skills. This setting is involved in an innovative working patterns such as a 4-day working week trial!

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculum

  • Supporting pupils’ academic progress as well as emotional development

  • Creating a positive and structured learning environment

  • Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff

  • Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies where needed

  • Contributing to whole-school initiatives that support student wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • UK QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Experience or strong interest in SEN education

  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
