Supply Teacher

Are you a Primary Teacher looking for greater flexibility and a wider variety of teaching experiences? Whether you prefer full-time, part-time, or occasional day-to-day work, we would love to welcome you to our warm and supportive supply team. We work closely with primary schools across Tameside and the surrounding areas, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to KS2 learners within positive and well-supported school environments.

Location: Tameside

Job Type: Day -to- Day Supply Teacher (KS2)

Salary: £130-160 per day

Start date: February 2026

What does the role involve?

As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that follow school policies and meet the expectations of the KS2 National Curriculum. You’ll step in for both scheduled and unforeseen staff absences, ensuring continuity of learning for pupils. Strong classroom management will be essential, as you’ll be responsible for fostering a focused and encouraging learning environment. You’ll work across different year groups, adapting quickly to new classes and subject areas. Most of the time, lesson plans will be provided, though you may occasionally be required to plan and deliver your own sessions. The role also involves supporting pupils’ well-being, promoting positive behaviour and maintaining open communication with school staff. Flexibility is important, as you may receive both advance bookings and same-morning calls for emergency cover, including PPA, training days and general absence cover.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking teachers who hold QTS (or equivalent) and have experience teaching within Key Stage 2. Experience in Upper KS2, particularly Year 5 or Year 6, is beneficial—especially for those familiar with SATs preparation—but not essential. The ideal applicant will bring a positive, adaptable approach, strong behaviour management skills and the ability to deliver engaging lessons. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is required, or you must be willing to obtain one.
