School Facilities manager
Job description
A school facilities manager job involves overseeing building maintenance, managing staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and maintaining the general appearance and functionality of the school site. Responsibilities often include handling minor repairs, coordinating external contractors for major work, managing cleaning services, and overseeing budgets for the facilities department. The role aims to provide a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for students and staff.
Day to day responsibilities agreed with your manager to include:
– manage, direct and monitor facilities activities and the overall performance of the team to the school to increase efficiency and maximise performance
– effective liaison, support and assistance with the whole of the school
– maintain and improve mechanisms for the provision of facilities, including surveying and measuring the process, outcomes and profitability and disseminate feedback to the appropriate internal entities
– utilise agreed systems to manage facilities functions, analysis and documenting
– the development of ongoing plans for facilities to achieve targets
– support to all other departments with facilities related needs
– subject to agreed criteria, recruitment, training, set action and targets, appraise and manage performance, development, coaching and general support of all team members to ensure targets are met
– reporting (content and format as agreed) on a monthly basis or as otherwise required
– assist in developing plans for team activities to include strategy to achieve agreed targets
The role is to start asap and is a full time permanent role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
