Job description
Are you an experienced educator who understands how to connect with and support children who learn differently?
We’re looking for compassionate and skilled SEND tutors to provide Maths and English tuition to primary and secondary pupils in Reigate and the surrounding areas.
Our pupils may be working below age-related expectations, have gaps in their learning, or face challenges linked to Autism, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), or SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs). Many come from disadvantaged backgrounds, are Looked After Children (LAC), or have experienced exclusions.
You’ll help them rebuild confidence, make academic progress, and re-engage positively with learning in a nurturing, structured way.
About the role:

Subjects: Maths and English (Primary & Secondary)

Location: Reigate & surrounding areas – sessions take place in homes, schools, libraries, or online

Hours: Minimum 10–15 hours per week, with potential for more

Type: Flexible, ongoing part-time or full-time work
We’re looking for tutors who:

Have a minimum of 2 years’ UK-based teaching or tutoring experience.

Have strong understanding and empathy towards pupils with Autism, PDA, and SEMH needs.

Can adapt lessons to meet a wide range of learning styles and emotional needs.

Are patient, reflective, and dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.

Hold relevant teaching or tutoring experience (QTS desirable but not essential).

Have a current Enhanced DBS (or are willing to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
