Job description
SEN Tutor – South Oxford (OX4) & Surrounding Areas
Hourly Rate: £20–£30
Locations: South Oxford (OX4), plus areas such as Abingdon, Didcot, Wantage, and Wallingford
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutor to support primary-age students with a range of special educational needs across South Oxford and nearby areas.
About the Role
You will deliver 1:1 personalised learning sessions in the student’s home, a local venue, or their school. You’ll be responsible for building strong, supportive relationships, assessing each learner’s individual needs, and planning a tailored scheme of work to help them progress academically, emotionally, and socially.
Essential Requirements
- QTS or a minimum of 3 years’ tutoring experience
- Experience supporting students with various SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences
- Ability to assess learning needs and plan structured, individualised programmes
- Patient, adaptable, and confident using a range of strategies to engage and support learners
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with families and schools
- Willingness to travel within South Oxford (OX4) and surrounding South Oxfordshire areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
