  2. Gloucestershire
Date posted : 02/03/26
  1. Part Time
£18 - 22 per hour

Job description

We’re recruiting dedicated tutors across Gloucestershire who want more than a standard tutoring placement. This is meaningful, structured work supporting children and young people who need skilled, consistent adults around them.

If you believe education is about connection first and curriculum second you’ll likely thrive here.

Who You’ll Be Supporting

We receive referrals for both primary and secondary-aged pupils.

Many of the young people we work with have:

  • High SEMH needs
  • Complex behavioural profiles
  • Complex physical needs
  • EHCPs or multi-agency involvement
  • Interrupted or reduced school placements

Some pupils require calm academic re-engagement.
Others need highly structured sessions that carefully balance learning with regulation and physical accessibility.

Flexibility, patience, and awareness are key.

Commitment & Availability

  • Minimum 10–15 hours per week
  • Sessions typically delivered between 8:30am–3:30pm
  • Monday to Friday availability required

Consistency is essential. Our pupils rely on routine, and professionals rely on us.

Professional Expectations

This role carries responsibility beyond delivering lessons.

Tutors must:

  • Maintain accurate attendance reporting
  • Monitor and record academic progress and emotional development
  • Provide clear, professional updates to be shared with schools and external agencies
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and structured record-keeping

Your documentation may contribute to EHCP reviews and wider professional discussions so attention to detail is critical.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with experience from:

  • Mainstream or specialist schools
  • Alternative provision
  • Tuition environments
  • Youth or pastoral roles

We are also open to graduates who have 6–12 months of experience working with children in similar environments and are looking to build meaningful experience in education.

Essential qualities:

  • Confidence managing SEMH needs
  • Understanding of complex physical or additional needs
  • Calm, consistent behaviour management
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • The ability to work independently and professionally

Why Join Us?

Progress here isn’t always linear and it isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it’s:

  • A pupil engaging safely for a full session
  • A child with physical needs accessing learning in a way that works for them
  • A young person beginning to regulate with support rather than resistance

If you can commit to consistent hours in Gloucestershire and want to be part of work that genuinely changes educational pathways, we’d love to hear from you.

This is tutoring with purpose, structure, and real impact.
